Ingredients
1 gallon of milk
1/4 cup of plain yogurt or 60 ml
1 cup warm milk, taken from the gallon
3/4 cups of sugar
3/4 tsp mold inhibitor
Recipe instruction
- Pour milk in a pot, warm over medium-heat. Stir every 2 to 3 minutes, until reaches 180F through 195F.
- Remove from heat and cover. Hold temperature at 180F for 5 minutes. NOTE: Thicker yogurt needs to hold temperature at 180F for 25 minutes.
- After 5 minutes transfer pot to a sink filled with cold water. Bring the temperature to 115F as quickly as possible. Remove pot from sink.
- In a small bowl stir together the yogurt with the warm milk.

Pour the mixed ingredients in the pot. Stir for 20 seconds. Divide the mix evenly into the jars, sealed them tightly. Nest the jars, cover and keep them in a dark and warm room from 8 to 10 hours.
Flavor and sweeten
FLAVOR: Follow instructions depending brand and amount.
SWEETEN: Dissolve 130 grams of sugar per liter with water to get better results. Amount for the whole gallon: 3/4 cups of sugar dissolved in water.
- Add preservative, per the tag instructions. Image of the product:mold inhibitor, 3/4 teaspoon per half gallon of yogurt.
- Transfer the jars to the fridge and hold them from 6 to 8 hours before consume them.
